What We Do
The Challenge
Colorado’s food system – how we grow, price, package, transport, purchase, and eat food – has become disconnected from our people. This disconnect has fractured our food system, worsening issues of affordability and availability of fresh, culturally responsive food people want across our state.
The Movement
To build a more responsive, equitable and resilient food system, Provecho Collective works alongside local leaders, partner organizations, government agencies, and community advocates across Colorado to advance four key commitments.Â
Our Four Commitments
Convene partners around shared priorities
We facilitate convenings where community members, government, agricultural, and nonprofit leaders can discuss issues, identify opportunities, and coordinate to support statewide and local efforts to to ensure food for all, today and tomorrow.
Support local solutions to local problems
We shift power to local organizations and individuals advancing solutions to food justice by connecting them to decision-makers and collective action opportunities in Colorado.
Strengthen resources and build capacity
We engage in grantmaking and resource-sharing to increase access to the knowledge, technical skills, and capacity that help organizations pursue their goals.
Champion bold policy change
We work alongside local leaders and community advocates to identify and mobilize around key policy challenges related to food sovereignty.
How We Do It
Welcome & Listen
We invite folks to join the movement and actively listen to communities most affected by food injustice to guide our collective work.
Share & Shift Power
We create space for shared learning, decision-making, and action — and help connect people across Colorado’s food system to strengthen local and statewide efforts.
Co-Create
We develop resources and data tools, distribute funding, and shape policy priorities that are rooted in community wisdom.
Amplify & Advocate
We uplift community stories, help build narrative power, and advocate for systems-level change.
Reflect, Adapt & Evolve Together
We evaluate, adjust, and grow as a collective, grounded in continuous learning and accountability.
