We’re excited to share some big news: The Colorado Blueprint to End Hunger has become Provecho Collective!
What began as a statewide plan to address hunger has grown into a multigenerational, multicultural movement powered by and for the people who grow, produce, sell, eat, advocate for, and care about food. Our work now goes beyond ending hunger — because lasting change requires local food systems that are responsive, equitable, and sustainable, led and cultivated by Colorado communities.
Our new name, look, and website reflect this evolution into a collective action organization that convenes partners, supports local solutions, strengthens community capacity, and champions bold policy change to build a better food system for everyone in Colorado. They also carry the voices of community members and partners who helped shape our mission, pillars of commitment, and new identity.
What does “Provecho Collective” mean?
Provecho (pronounced proh-BEH-choh in English) comes from buen provecho, a warm, everyday wish in Spanish for others to be nourished and enjoy their food. It’s a phrase of care, connection, and community – all values at the heart of our work. Collective speaks to how we work: together, with and alongside Colorado communities.
Together, the name embraces who we are and the people we work alongside as a multicultural and bilingual nonprofit that’s rooted in equity and shared power.
What hasn’t changed
While our identity has evolved, everything else you value about our work remains the same, including:
- Our mission, vision, values, and pillars of commitment that guide our work
- Commitment to equity, collaboration, and shared power
- Who we work with – from community advocates and grassroots leaders to food coalitions, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies
- Committees, convenings, and compensation for community members
- Programs like the Community Food Grants and Advocacy Leadership Academy
Provecho Collective is more than a new name and logo update — it’s an invitation to take a seat, share your voice, and help shape Colorado’s food system now and into the future.
Let’s continue working together to create a Colorado where everyone can access the food they choose, where they want it, and when they need it.
With gratitude,
Dolores Ramirez and Joël McClurg, Co-Executive Directors
