In September 2024, Jefferson County Food Policy Council hosted their Food Policy Fair at Lakewood Park. The event’s goal was to create an interactive learning opportunity for members on the various policy processes and issues affecting local food systems.

A few team members recently visited with Feeding Colorado to learn more about food bank operations across the state. Staff from several organizations, including the Blueprint, also met with U.S. Representative Yadira Caraveo in September.

With support from our Federal Policy Committee, the Colorado Blueprint to End Hunger and partners recently sent another letter to Colorado’s Attorney General related to the $24.6 billion proposed merger of Kroger and Albertsons. Collectively, we expressed deep concerns about the recent sale of 91 Safeway locations across Colorado, done in hopes of helping secure the merger.
